ABOUT CONSTITUENCY

Govind Gaude has articulated a model for rural development embracing sustainability and quality human resource development. Taking forward the promise of human development Govind’s vision to boost the rural economy through massive spending on infrastructure and connectivity. This cut the cost of transportation as well as saves the perishable commodities giving rapid access to the markets. Increase agricultural productivity, facilitate logistics and create new market avenues. The three-fold strategy has already seen qualitative changes in the farming commodities. Around 55kms of roads have been put under homixing along with 21 km of roads newly drown cutting the hostile terrains of hills and hillocks. To facilitate the uninterrupted flow of electricity 32 transformers have been installed along with the 50 km long cable conductors. To boost the irrigation 52 nelly built bandhs and bandharas have been commissioned. The 30crores Banastari Market Complex is also taking a shape. The famous Banastari Market gives access to the local farmers to sell the produce.

One of the flagship projects delivered by Govind Gaude is the water pipeline with the green status to Keri, Savoi-Verem and volvoi. It travels through 18 km with 8 newly built Ground Level Reservoirs. This pipeline project is not only a fulfilment of the election campaign but a marvel of rural engineering.

Govind Gaude’s term is seen as a boost to losing fort of public education. Record number of 35 Government Primary Schools have been renovated with modern educational technology. For Government Primary Schools have been rebuilt with educational complexes. However, infrastructure cannot be an indicator of development. The substantive rise in enrollment has been encouraging not only for the Priol constituency but it comes as a ray of hope for the society that is losing hope in public education.

Government High School, Savoi-Verem is a shining example of the collective will of the promise. It was the first English medium high school to be established and was inaugurated by Goa’s first Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar. The school was losing out on enrollment and heading towards closure. With the continued efforts of locals, parents and teachers to the enrollment have crossed 160 pupils and Govind Gaude aspires to make this School a model school in taluka.
